General rental terms and conditions

RENTAL AGREEMENT

The renter is required to sing a rental agreement at the time of rental and will be subject to its terms and conditions as well as the Hungarian Law.

RATES

Rates include kilometer use up to 150 Km/day high season, 200 Km/day off-season, third party liability known as Casco (CDW, TP) insurance. Unlimited kilometer usage also available upon request, but extra charge will apply. Collision Damage Waver CDW and TP insurance liability (self-participation) for Economy, Compact, and Intermediate vehicles is 10% or (minimum deducible amount may apply, depends on the vehicle type), Standard and Full size vehicles are 20% or (minimum deducible amount may apply, depends on the vehicle type). Premium and Luxury size vehicle liability will be advised when making a reservation.

Hungarian VAT is not included in any advertised price. No surcharges for airport pick-ups and drop offs

DRIVERS LICENCE

Only the renters or drivers approved by Capitol City Rent permitted to drive the vehicle. The minimum age required for all car groups is 21. A full valid driving license must be held for at least 12 months at the time of rental and must be presented with valid passports at the start of the car rental. Photocopies or faxed licenses will not be accepted! Any endorsements should be declared at the time of reservation as this may affect your booking.

COLLECTION OF THE RENTAL VEHICLE

A valid credit card will be required at the start of all rentals for security purposes even when your voucher covers the cost of the rental. An imprint of the credit card will be taken and may be used to cover additional extras not covered by the rental voucher. All major credit cards will be accepted (American Express, Master Card, and Visa). Security deposits that are varying from car categories must be coved with a valid credit card at the time of pick up. Rental fee is due upon pick-up time in the form of cash payment. Hungarian Forint or other currencies accepted. However not only cash payments accepted to cover the rental fee. Credit cards are also an option but an extra surcharges/fees apply.

DRIVING RESTRICIONS & ONE WAY RENTALS

The rental vehicle pick up is normally at the airport or a local office location; deliveries can be arranged to other delivery points during normal business office hours. Deliveries and pick-ups in Budapest is normally free of charge (only when rental time exceeds 4 days), but additional charges may apply and are payable locally. Vehicle can be dropped off (outside of Budapest) at different location, so as one-way rentals too, if the renter will pay a 90 HUF/Km fee for both distances back to Budapest, Hungary. Cross border, one-way rentals are also available.

Cars of all categories are not allowed to driven into the former Soviet Union Sates, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, and Yugoslavia (except Croatia). Cross boarder traffic into other European counties are allowed for which a fee apply (extra 10-20% cross boarder travel fee is charged) and the rental car shall be subject to the written consent of the Rental company.

INSURANCES, LIABILITY & ACCIDENTS

• Mandatory Liability Insurance.

1. Under Hungarian law, anyone renting, driving, or using a Motor Vehicle must be insured for Mandatory Liability Insurance.

2. In the case of a guiltless accident take place, a European notification form of the accident, properly completed and signed by both parties, is necessary.

3. In the case of a damage occurred abroad, a certification from of the other party / parties insurer causing the damage and the exact times and dates of the accident took place should be recorded.

4. Absence of the above the renter is liable and shall pay for all damages.

Please note that Mandatory Insurance does not cover as follows:

• damage to the rental vehicle

• damage or loss of the rental vehicle as a result of theft, attempted theft or taking without the owners consent

• damage to or theft of personal belongings or goods in or from the rental vehicle

• death or injury to the driver of the rental vehicle

• CASCO Insurance known as CDW and TP.

1. If the rental fee includes the CASCO insurance in the case of damages or theft made to the rented car, the renter shall be liable only for the self-part of such damages and theft, unless stipulated in the rental agreement. The amount of the self-part varies from car categories and must be payable by the renter. If the rental fee does not include the CASCO insurance, the renter is fully responsible and liable for any damages and theft.

2. Please note, that CASCO insurance does not cover tires, wheels, loss of the vehicle keys and license plate, registration papers, windshields, antennas, cockpit interior, trunk and towing charges of the rented vehicle that do not arise from the accident. Therefore, the renter shall be fully liable for such damages. The same is valid for negligence and driving the car under influence of drugs or alcohol, even if CDW was purchase.

3. The rental company can charge the responsibility to the renter at any time for damages or car theft, up to the full value of the car, if the rental vehicle was driven outside of Hungary without the rental company permission. CDW and TP (Casco) is not a fully comprehensive insurance!

CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR AN EVENT OF DAMAGE

In the event of any mechanical difficulties or accidents involving the vehicle, it is important that details are reported to the renting location immediately. Local police should be notified if personal injury occurs in the case of any accidents and a signed police report obtained.

Authority to repair or replace a vehicle (vehicles parts) must be given by Capitol City Rent. In order to ensure the safe operation of the rented vehicle, the renter shall check the cooling water and the motor oil gauge, and shall indicate any problem in relation to them as well as the engine oil. If any parts of the vehicle shall be repaired or exchanged, the renter shall hand over the exchanged old spare parts to Capitol City Rent.

LIABILITY OF THE RENTER

1. It is the renter’s responsibility to pay the fines and other fees (parking tickets, traffic violation, speeding tickets etc.) imposed during the term of lease in connection with the vehicle.

2. It is also the renter’s fault and shall be fully liable for damages if it drove the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or other material capable of inducting twilight sleep, or if the person did not drive the vehicle specified in the lease agreement, or further, if the damages occurred during towing another vehicle.

Rates include limited kilometer use up to 150 Km/day high season, 200 Km/day off season, Third party liability, Casco (CDW, TP) insurance.
Collision damage waver CDW and TP insurance liability (self-participation) for Economy, Compact, and Intermediate vehicles is 125.000 HUF, Standard and Full size vehicles are 200.000 HUF.
Hungarian VAT is not included in any advertised price. No surcharges for airport pick-ups and drop offs.

Extras

FUEL POLICY

The rental car will normally have a full tank of fuel at the start of the car rental. Please either return the car with full tank or be repaired to be charge for the missing fuel. Refueling the missing fuel will be charged at 350 HUF.

OUT OF HOUR'S SERVICE CHARGE

In case clients like to pick up or drop-off the rental vehicle out of the regular office hours, there will be an Out-Of-Hour-Service-Charge of 5000 HUF each time.

ADDITIONAL EXTRAS

Additional extras (ski racks, bicycle racks, baby seats) available upon request. Detailed information will be given at the time of the reservation and pick-up. Additional driver / extra driver fee is 750 HUF per day.

For rentals commencing at an airport, it is essential that renters inform Capitol City Rent personnel of the flight number and arrival time. This will ensure that our company staff is aware of any flight delays. If the information is not provided in time, no responsibility can be accepted or compensation allowed for resulting in a failed rental.

All above stated general terms and conditions are valid all the times until further notice.

Insurances (CDW), (TP)

In the even of damages to or loss of the rented car of parts of it, also in case of fire, breakage of glass or theft, the Renter shall irrespective of his or the driver’s fault pay to the Lessor the amount of 500 euro to 20,000 euro.

By purchase of the collision damage waiver (CDW) or theft protection (TP) the Renter's liability which ever is greater:

• A, B, C category: 10% or min. 125.000 HUF

• D, E category: 20% or min. 200.000-350.000 HUF
